AIIB agrees $90m loan for hydropower project in Nepal
The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank has approved a loan of up to $90 million for the Upper Trishuli-1 Hydropower Project, AIIB’s first project in  Nepal.
UKEF criticised for backing fossil-fuelled power projects abroad
The UK government has been taken to task by its own MPs for sending billions of pounds overseas to help build power plants that burn fossil fuels while claiming a climate victory on home soil.
Oil and gas sector showing interest in battery storage
The oil and gas sector is showing seminal signs of a potential boom in battery storage for future projects. 

05 June - KfW IPEX to finance Helsinki aiport expansion

Hi everyone,
Here are some highlights from today's news across energy and infrastructure finance:
KfW IPEX-Bank is participating in the financing to expand and modernise Helsinki Airport.
DIF has closed the acquisition of a stake in the operational Dublin Waste to Energy PPP project.
The Ital Gas Storage project in Italy is said to be out to banks for an amend-and-extend on the pricing and tenor of up to €1 billion of its original project debt.
Canada's national government and the provincial government of Quebec have announced that they will commit over C$500 million ($375 million) in the project to rehabilitate the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Tunnel.

Interview with Nick Hann at the Canada Infrastructure Bank

We sat down with Nick Hann, Head of Investments at the Canada Infrastructure Bank to discuss and learn a bit more about the bank’s focus and priorities in the Canadian market.
To hear more about the CIB and their plans to transform Canadian infrastructure, Nick will be speaking at Proximo’s upcoming Canadian Infrastructure Exchange on June 19th in Toronto.
 
Canada Infrastructure Bank announced just yesterday an investment of up to $2 billion in financing in Ontario’s GO Expansion - On Corridor project. CIB’s partnership with Infrastructure Ontario and Metrolinx will "add to the transformation of the GO rail network in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area and significantly improve service for commuters."

30 May - Innergex to build 7.5MW Innavik hydro project

In today's news: 
Innergex Renewable Energy Inc and Pituvik Landholding Corporation have agreed to build the 7.5-MW Innavik run-of-river hydroelectric generating station on the Inukjuak River in northern Quebec.
The Quebec Port Authority (QPA) has signed an agreement with Hutchison Ports and Canadian National Railway (CN) to build and operate a new container terminal
Private equity investment fund SmartPitch Ventures has acquired a controlling interest in Maryland-based solar developer New Energy Equity.
BayWa r.e. has acquired Forsa Energy’s Riverstone-backed  UK renewable energy business and its 350MW pipeline of Scottish onshore wind farms.

23 May - New partnership to build gasification plants in the US

The EIB will lend 300mn euros to the Polish National Development Bank to complete the A1 motorway
The Metropistas toll road in Puerto Rico has issued USD 120mn in bonds to refinance a loan
US waste-to-energy group EQTEC will partner with Phoenix Biomass Energy to develop gasification plants 
Power Producer Central Puerto will reach close on a USD 56mn loan from KfW IPEX for a cogeneration project in Mendoza, Argentina.
