22 July - Hann resigns from CIB after just 10 months

In today's news: 
Concesionaria Vial Unión del Sur – a consortium comprising Sacyr (60%) and Herdoiza Crespo (40%) – has reached financial close on the COP2.3 trillion ($740 million) 80 km Pasto-Rumichaca 4G toll road in Colombia.
Blackstone has reached final close on its inaugural fundraising phase for its first open-ended infrastructure fund – Blackstone Infrastructure Partners (BIP). Closing brings total commitments for BIP to $14 billion.
I Squared Capital, through its ISQ Global Infrastructure Fund II, has invested $460 million in convertible equities in Venture Global LNG.
Nicholas Hann confirms he has resigned from his role as head of investments at Canada Infrastructure Bank (CIB) after just 10 months in the job.

18 July - GE and BlackRock launch new solar and storage developer

General Electric and BlackRock Real Assets have launched a new solar and storage developer – Distributed Solar Development (DSD).
Two leading partners have departed London-based independent infrastructure fund manager Arcus Infrastructure Partners.
Aventron has signed a 5 year PPA with Statkraft for its 50MWp Bargas solar project in Spain from start of operations in July 2020.
Cameroon Railways (Camrail) has signed a $13 million US Exim-backed loan to finance the procurement of four diesel-electric locomotives from Wabtec Corporation.

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners’ (CIP) is refinancing the 42MW Templeborough biomass project in the UK.
Argentina’s Secretariat of Energy has announced that 31 renewable energy projects have qualified for the Ronda 3 phase of its RenovAR programme.
Queensland Airports, operator of Gold Coast Airport raises green loan to fund redevelopment of the airport and double its terminal size.
New BNDES CEO Gustsavo Montezano announces sale of over $26bn worth of BNDES assets and that the bank will pay back BRL126 billion in debt to the Brazillian government by the end of 2019. 

16 July - HPCC relaunches 300MW solar tender

In the news
Haryana Power Purchase Company has issued an RFP for the procurement of power from 300MW of solar projects.
LS Power-owned West Deptford Energy is out to banks with a $500 million package to refinance debt on its 744MW West Deptford combined cycle generation project.
The 588MW Beatrice offshore wind farm in Scotland reached full financial close last week on a £1.95 billion pound facility to refinance the outstanding debt stapled to the scheme.

15 July Puerto Rico issues P3 power project RFQ

In the news:
Puerto Rico Public-Private Partnerships Authority -  in collaboration with the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority - has issued an RFQ for a 300MW CCGT project at the site of the existing Palo Seco power plant
2i Aeroporti – controlled by F2i sgr and a consortium led by Ardian Infrastructure – has finalized the €32.8 million acquisition of a 55% stake in the Trieste Airport.
Total Eren has refinanced the acquisition of NovEnergia Holding Company.
 
 

11 July - Major overhaul of Colombia renewable auction rules

Following the failure of its first round auction in February, Colombia’s energy ministry has established new rules for the country’s second long-term renewables auction, which is expected to take place before the end of October.
EV fast charging developer Engenie has raised a £35 million equity investment from Cube Infrastructure Fund II. Engenie previously secured £5 million of funding from Investec which will retain its stake.
Latin American development bank CAF is to lend $75 million to Northern Argentine province Jujuy to finance the region's first solar-powered railway.

9 July - Ardian buys into 620MW Hill Top power project

In the news:
Asset manager WRM Group has acquired a €180 million portfolio of renewables non-performing loans (NPLs) from Mediocredito Italiano.
Alerion Clean Power has closed on the acquisition debt for its €41 million  purchase of Comiolica in Spain from Boalar Investments.
Ardian Infrastructure has agreed to purchase 41.9% of the 620MW Hill Top gas-fired power project in Green County, Pennsylvania from funds managed by the infrastructure and power group of Ares Management.

8 July - I Squared Capital sells interests in Kendall Green Energy

EDPR signs PPAs for two Brazilian wind projects
Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners has mandated Atlas Professionals to perform a study on the availability of labor and vessel resources for the Star of the South project – Australia’s proposed first offshore wind farm.
I Squared Capital, through its ISQ Global Infrastructure Fund I, has sold its interests in Kendall Green Energy to Veolia Energy North America.
